Kenyan Drake Fantasy Outlook

One of the best trades last year was when the Cardinals acquired Kenyan Drake midseason. You could tell Drake was happy to be in a new environment and his play elevated and matched his mood.

It is hard not to talk about Kliff Kingsbury and Kyler Murray when discussing anything that involves the Cardinals. Kingsbury will be calling plays himself again this year.

He certainly showed that he likes a fast pace. The Cardinals like to tempo and keep defenses on their heels.

When Drake is at his best is when he is heavily involved and gets in a rhythm. There were times last season that Drake was fed the rock and he produced.

Pros & Cons

  • Happy with the Cardinals
  • Big Opportunity
  • Pass Happy Offense
  • Can He Be The Guy?

The times Drake was given plenty of opportunities, Kyler Murray was hurt. To make matters worse the Hopkins trade speaks volumes to what Kingsbury is thinking.

Overall, Drake takes advantage of his opportunities. There are even some designed screens or gadget plays for him also. Expect a little inconsistency.

Some games Drake will light up the stat sheet for sure.

Arizona Cardinals Offensive Line 2020

Projected Starting Line: LT: DJ Humphries, LG: Justin Pugh, C: Mason Cole, RG: JR Sweezy, RT: Marcus Gilbert

This offensive line is above average. It is a solid group with a good mix of experience and youth.

Gilbert, Sweezy and Pugh all have over 80 career starts.

Humphries is a former first round pick with some good traits. However, he has had a ton of injuries and had 13 penalties last season.

Mason Cole is the youngster of the group with the least experience. He shows good effort and looks to be improving as his career advances.

The unit as a whole is similar. Each player has above average athleticism, strength and power. There is nothing to rave about with this group in regards to the run game. They do their jobs. They need to improve their pass blocking but that will not hurt Kenyan Drake.

Kenyan Drake Strength of Schedule

The Cardinals will only play in two primetime games this season. However, being a west coast team the majority of their games are played in the 4pm EST slate.

The schedule does not favor Arizona with 7 games against defenses that finished in the top 10 during 2019.

A week 8 bye is perfect. A good rest time for players.

Kenyan Drake Fantasy Playoff Schedule

Week 14 the Cards travel to the Giants whom the Cardinals beat in 2019 and rushed for over 150 yards. Week 15 and 16 gets tough as they face the Eagles and 49ers. Week 17 is a divisional showdown in LA against the Rams.

Kenyan Drake Injury History

Drake has not missed a regular season NFL game due to injury.

Kenyan Drake Skillset

Home Run Ability: B+. Drake regularly shows speed. Just go watch his 80 yard TD against Seattle this past season.

Playmaking Ability: B-. Drake runs hard but is not known for his ability to make people miss.

Is Kenyan Drake a Good Fantasy Pick?

Yes but a not a resounding yes. To just be a borderline RB2, you wont like the production some weeks. Other weeks, you will be satisfied for sure.
