Best Week 9 Fantasy Football Players by Position
Week 9 Top 3 For Free!
Josh Allen – The Bills will upset the Seahawks! The way to do that is win the track meet because nobody can stop Seattle’s offense. This is the kind of game that bodes well for Allen where he can throw and run against a team’s defense. Seattle is allowing the most points to fantasy QBs so this is a no brainer.
Russell Wilson – The Seahawks and Bills are going toe to toe Sunday. Allen and Russ both have made cases for MVP during this season and now they will battle it out head to head. Expect the scoreboard to light up in this one. Russ has also been very consistent this season and has not scored less than 3 TDs yet in 2020.
Tom Brady – Brady will be fired up to get revenge against the Saints whom the Buccaneers lost to in Week 1. He is also fired up to have AB in the lineup this week. Brady has been on fire recently. He has not thrown a pick in his last 4 games and has over 100 QBR in his last 3. Over 300 yards and 3 TDs for Brady.
Big Risk Big Reward Play. Kirk Cousins. With Dalvin being the focal point of the offense, I expect Matt Patricia and the Lions to try and force Cousins to beat them. Well, the Lions play a lot of man and Thielen and Justin Jefferson should be open often. Cousins will surprise some people this week!
James Conner – Conner has not scored less than 10 points since Week 1 against the Giants. A very underrated fantasy back right now, he is quietly sitting at number 11 in half PPR rankings for the season. Pittsburgh is going to dominate Dallas so I expect Conner to get a lot of carries and be effective.
Chase Edmonds – Edmonds is in a very bright spot this week against Miami. He had 12 touches last game against Seattle but Arizona had an entire bye week to script against the Fish. Without Kenyan Drake, Edmonds stock has risen tremendously so look for him to capitalize. Both rushing and catching Edmonds will have over 20 touches and over 120 total yards.
Justin Jackson – Jackson was very effective last week against Denver who has an above average rush defense. He had 17 carries for 89 yards and also 3 catches for 53 yards. The Raiders are giving up the 5th most points to fantasy backs this season so if you picked Justin Jackson up in waivers a few weeks ago you should be smiling. Play him with great confidence and expect a good return on your investment.
Big Risk Big Reward Play. James White. Give yourself some Monday Night hope! James White has not had his usual season where he gets 5 catches every game and it has been time for the Patriots to involve him. Against the Jets is the perfect time to do so because I believe the Patriots realize he needs to touch the ball more and the Jets aggressive defense provides a positive matchup for him. He can get matched up against LBs and probably is the best receiver the Patriots have at this point. Play White and have some hope he can help you get a fantasy win this week.
Stefon Diggs – Allen is one of my top QBs this week and Diggs is his WR1. This game is a track meet waiting to happen so fantasy owners need to get excited about the players in this Week 9 showdown. The Seahawks secondary has not been able to cover anyone this season which is why they are giving up the most fantasy points to QBs and WRs! Diggs is the guy this week.
Terry McLaruin – McLaurin has been one of the few bright spots for Washington this year. McLaurin is always in the borderline WR1 conversation because of his target share. In this first matchup against the G men he had 7 catches for 74 yards. This time, he will top 100 yards and reach the endzone in a game I expect the over to hit.
Adam Thielen – I mentioned Kirk Cousins in the Big Risk Big Reward portion for QBs and his main man Adam Thielen will be the beneficiary. Thielen is a master route runner. He is always creating great separation and making defenders look silly. Thielen and Jefferson have been burning DBs this season which also does not let defenses double one or the other. It is also noteworthy that 19 for the Vikings has scored in 5 of the Vikes 7 games thus far. Sign me up for Adam Thielen this week.
Big Risk Big Reward Play. Jalen Guyton. Week 4 72 yard TD against Tampa Bay. Two games later a 70 yard TD against Jacksonville. Two games later, a 70 plus yard TD upcoming this week against Las Vegas.
Jonnu Smith – Jonnu Smith has fallen off tremendously since his hot start the first four games of the season. This is time for him to get back on track. The Titans need to find an advantage against the Bears defense and Smith is the x factor. The Bears are giving up the 11th most points to TEs this season. Jared Cook caught a TD last week against them and I think the Titans agree it is time to get Jonnu back to being a focal point for that offense.
Dalton Schultz – The Cowboys offense is a nightmare without Dak. To make matters worse, the Steel Curtain is coming to town riding the momentum of two huge wins against Tennessee and Baltimore. The Steelers are going to shut Zeke down and do everything they can to not let Amari Cooper, Gallup or Ceedee Lamb make plays down the field so Dalton Schultz is going to be forgot about and have a nice day.
Darren Waller – I completely missed last week with Darren Waller but he will not let me down two games in a row. He has not had bad games back to back yet this season. Waller also has a tasty matchup against the Chargers so get ready to see the Waller you know and love.
Big Risk Big Reward Play. James O’Shaughnessy. Just a hunch. The Jaguars are starting a rookie QB and are coming off a bye week so there could be some designed plays. Not much behind this one but also add in that the Texans defense is bad.
Justin Tucker – The Colts defense is better than most people think. Therefore, the Ravens will have a few drives stall but getting 3 will be crucial in this tough AFC contest.
Younghoe Koo – Koo is second among all fantasy kickers. The Falcons are going to be able to throw it around some against Denver but I doubt they can run it well so Koo will have to trot onto the field and finish the drive.
Joey Slye – Slye will be called on for some long balls against Kansas City. The Panthers will need to score touchdowns to beat Kansas City but Slye is almost automatic and will get at least 4 FGs total in this one.
Pittsburgh Steelers – A no brainer. This one could get very very ugly for Dallas.
New England Patriots – The Patriots need to get better in a hurry. However, a defensive mind like Belicheck against such a familiar foe like the Jets, look for the Patriots to once again have Sam Darnold “seeing ghosts” on Monday Night Football.
Atlanta Falcons – The Falcons got a win last week. Their defense showed juice throughout the game and with new interim head coach Raheem Morris they are still fighting. Drew Lock is not a natural passer and the Broncos passing game has struggled at times this season. Therefore, I believe the Falcons can make the Broncos even more one dimensional and get after them in the ATL.
