Best Week 5 Fantasy Football Players by Position
Week 5 Top 3 For Free!
Matt Ryan – The Falcons vs Panthers is going to be one of the high scoring games this week. Matt Ryan has not been the problem thus far this season. The defense has been terrible so expect Ryan to have to keep pace and score a bunch for Atlanta to have a chance to win. The Falcons need this win or their season is essentially over so they should give it all they have Sunday.
Teddy Bridgewater – Teddy was a top performer last week. This week, he and Matt Ryan will showdown against one another. The Falcons have looked terrible all year playing the pass and Joe Brady is going to give them fits this week. Teddy has also attempted at least 34 passes in every game this season except when they were controlling the game against the Chargers but this game against Atlanta will have a lot of offense.
Lamar Jackson – Jackson is the Bengals worst nightmare. They were not able to even slow him down the two times they played him last season. This season, the Bengals defense has not shown any real improvement. Have a field day MVP!
Big Risk Big Reward Play – Kyle Allen. With all the talk this week about whether or not Ron Rivera benched Dwayne Haskins too quickly, play Allen. Allen had some really nice weeks last season where he was able to score 20 plus fantasy points and the Rams certainly do not have a dominant defense. Throw Allen in there if you feel like a boss.
Jonathan Taylor – 100% without a doubt. The Colts OL is going to create huge holes for Taylor to run through against a soft Cleveland defense. This will be a big day for Taylor who has already had a good start to his rookie season
Clyde Edwards Helaire – The Raiders defense is struggling to stop the run and their pass defense is not much better. Mahomes and the Chiefs offense is going to move the ball at will against them. This is going to be a stat filled day for Clyde. Over 150 total yards, over 20 touches and 2 scores for the rookie.
David Johnson – With Bill O’Brien gone, the entire Texans team will look different than they have the first month of the season. The Texans are going to jump all over the Jags who have given up 30 plus points each of the last three weeks. Joe Mixon went off against them last week and David Johnson is next in line to have a season best game.
Big Risk Big Reward Play – Devonta Freeman. Freeman had 15 touches last week and led the Giants in carries. Although he only had a 3.0 ypc, the Cowboys defense ranks toward the bottom in stopping the run so it is a good bounce back spot for Freeman.
Calvin Ridley – Ridley has held to 0 catches against GB Monday night which was surprising. The top fantasy WR will bounce back this week in a shootout against Carolina. The Falcons cannot afford to not feed him this week in a do or die situation. Carolina’s pass defense overall ranks well but individually, they do not have what it takes to stop Ridley. Watch him shine in this one.
DJ Moore – I have the Matt Ryan and Calvin Ridley pair, so pair DJ Moore with Teddy. Moore has yet to score this season but that all changes this week. Early and often, Moore is going to be open and connect with Bridgewater against this poor secondary Atlanta has.
Tyreek Hill – The Cheetah will explode this week! He is having a good season but this week he will blow past the Raiders with a few exciting plays. The Las Vegas defense is young and not ready for the game breaking ability Hill possesses.
Big Risk Big Reward Play – Darius Slayton. Slayton has had at least 6 targets in every game and every once in awhile he gets behind the defense for a big play. Jason Garrett gets to dial up some things against his former team so the speedster will be used to attack the Dallas secondary that has not been good these first four weeks.
George Kittle – Big Kit Kat went off last week! He is in a prime spot against Miami this week because they play a ton of man coverage and they have no LB or safety that can cover him. No matter if Nick Mullens, CJ Beathard or even Jimmy G, Kit Kat is the main man and will be peppered with targets.
Eric Ebron – The Eagles weakness on defense is their LB corp. The Steelers and Ebron have to be licking their chops after seeing George Kittle have the kind of game he had against them last week. It would be wise for Ben to look Ebron’s way a ton come Sunday.
Hayden Hurst – Matt Ryan is going to throw a ton of passes this week. With Julio Jones banged up and questionable for this week, it could open up more for Hurst to have a bigger impact. Monitor the injury report but nonetheless it will be a shootout against Carolina.
Big Risk Big Reward Play – Kyle Rudolph. The Seahawks passing defense is still dead last in the league. The Vikings are a play action team and will most likely be without Jamal Adams again this week which forces a backup safety to be disciplined enough to not forget about the TE. Thielen and Jefferson will attract plenty of attention from the entire defense as well as Dalvin Cook and the run game.
Zane Gonzalez – The Cardinals are going to move the ball well against the Jets. They will be up the whole time but will be determined to get points the whole game and keep the lead comfortable. Throw in a 50 yarder and Gonzalez is the guy.
Nick Folk – The Patriots and Broncos are on pace for a defensive struggle. Points will be at a premium this week and Folk will deliver.
Jason Sanders – Sanders is already one of the top fantasy kickers this season. The Dolphins are struggling o run the ball and it causes some drives to end with 3. Same old song this week against SF.
Houston Texans – New juice in Houston! They do not have a takeaway yet this season and this is the perfect week to get several. The Texans are going to be amped up without Bill O’Brien and the defense will pin their ears back and have fun with the Jags.
New England Patriots – The Patriots know they will have to rely on their defense with their offense struggling like it is. They need Cam back sooner rather than later. Even without Stephon Gilmore, I expect the rest of the defense to rise to the occasion in a low scoring game against Denver.
Washington Football Team – Yes sir! Surprising but Washington will get the upset win this week. They have the 7th ranked defense right now. The Rams showed last week playing the lowly Giants that they are capable of being humbled. A 1 o clock kickoff for a west coast team is not good and Washington will take advantage of that.
